Karachi, the bustling metropolis of Pakistan, recently witnessed a significant development in its law enforcement efforts. Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah led a meeting to address the city's law and order situation, commending the city police for their successful rescue of two kidnapped victims from Baldia. The Chief Minister expressed his determination to instill a culture of dedication and hard work within the police force to transform Karachi into a peaceful and habitable megacity.

The meeting, attended by key officials including Additional IG Karachi Imran Yakoob and DIG Mukadas Hyder, highlighted the need for enhanced focus on high-crime hotspots. CM Shah emphasized the urgency of strengthening police stations facing an uptick in criminal activities. Additional IG Imran Yakoob reported a daily crime rate of 166 cases in the city, underscoring the importance of proactive measures such as increased patrols and intelligence operations.

An operation conducted on April 7th, 2024, in Baldia resulted in the arrest of four kidnappers and the successful rescue of the abducted individuals, Shahid and Abdullah. It was revealed that a criminal gang operating from a UAE state was behind the kidnappings for ransom, prompting plans for their apprehension with the cooperation of UAE authorities.

The CM lauded the police force's efforts and stressed the necessity of maintaining a vigilant stance to ensure Karachi's safety. With the provision of advanced technology and equipment, law enforcement agencies are better equipped to combat crime effectively. CM Shah's directive to IG Ghulam Nabi to oversee the safe recovery of kidnapped persons in the Riverine area underscores the government's commitment to tackling criminal activities.

In response to rising street crime and ransom kidnappings in the Kutcha area, CM Shah urged collaborative efforts between police, Rangers, and other agencies to eradicate criminal elements from the city.
