Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah leads efforts to enhance law and order in the province through advanced technologies, including E-tagging, GEO-tagging, drones, and surveillance cameras. The focus is on combating street crimes and drug offenses effectively.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah recently chaired a crucial meeting aimed at boosting law and order initiatives in the province. The focus of the meeting was on implementing advanced technologies to combat street crimes and drug offenses effectively.

During the session, it was decided to acquire 4,000 devices for E-tagging repeat street and drug offenders. The Chief Minister stressed the importance of utilizing GEO-tagging and GPS technology to tackle criminal activities in high-risk areas, directing the deployment of 14 drones in Sukkur, Ghotki, Kashmore, and Shikarpur districts for enhanced monitoring.

While acknowledging the efforts of law enforcement agencies in improving security, the Chief Minister emphasized the need for leveraging technology further. He assured sufficient funding for procuring and maintaining the necessary equipment for effective law enforcement.

Expressing his commitment to eradicating drug-related crimes in Karachi, the Chief Minister sanctioned a budget for installing trackers in police vehicles to enhance monitoring and accountability.

Identifying hotspot areas for street crimes and drug trafficking, the government implemented measures such as round-the-clock monitoring of entry and exit points and the installation of facial recognition/ANPR cameras to strengthen security across various districts.

The implementation of the Karachi Safe City project, with the installation of 1,300 cameras, has begun with a budget of Rs5.6 billion. Additionally, the utilization of drones and laser-guided fencing technology to bolster border security and monitor criminal activities was highlighted.

Efforts to leverage GPS technology for efficient monitoring and prevention of drug-related crimes were emphasized. The Chief Minister directed the police to collaborate with the National Radio Telecommunication Corporation (NRTC) to explore further technological solutions for enhancing law enforcement capabilities.

The proactive approach taken by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in leveraging advanced technologies to combat street crimes and drug offenses showcases a strong commitment to improving law and order in the province.
