The Inspector General (IG) of Sindh Police, Ghulam Nabi Memon, has introduced a new initiative aimed at providing free screenings for hepatitis and HIV to both male and female police personnel. This program, led by the Medical Superintendent (MS) of the Police Hospital, Dr. Muzaffar Ali Jakharani, is being implemented following the directives of the IG.

Dr. Jakharani has taken proactive measures to collaborate with the heads of the hepatitis and HIV programs to ensure the smooth execution of the screening efforts. Teams comprising medical professionals from the Police Hospital, in conjunction with experts from the Hepatitis and HIV Programme, will conduct these screenings in phases to ensure comprehensive coverage.

The primary objective of this screening initiative is to provide free treatment to any police personnel diagnosed with hepatitis or HIV. Dr. Muzaffar Ali Jakharani has stressed the importance of maintaining strict confidentiality for individuals who receive a positive diagnosis, underscoring the significance of privacy and dignity for all those involved.
