The Punjab government introduces the Green Tractor Scheme to enhance farming practices, provide financial support, and promote agricultural diversification in the region.

The Punjab government has taken a significant step towards modernizing agriculture with the introduction of the Green Tractor Scheme in the Budget 2024-25. This initiative, spearheaded by the Chief Minister of Punjab, aims to boost mechanization in farming practices across the region by offering small, medium, and large tractors at subsidized rates to farmers.

With an allocation of over 75 billion for the Green Tractor Scheme, the government has rolled out Pakistan's largest 'Kissan Friendly Package', benefiting half a million farmers. In addition to this scheme, plans for the Solarization of Agriculture and the establishment of the Punjab Kisan Bank have been unveiled, marking a historic milestone for the agricultural sector in Punjab.

The Punjab Kisan Bank will provide favorable loans to landowners with 6 to 50 acres of land, ensuring financial support for farmers. Furthermore, the Oil Seed Promotion Program has been launched to encourage farmers to cultivate oily edibles, promoting agricultural diversification in the region.

The Green Tractor Scheme and the accompanying agricultural initiatives introduced by the Punjab government signify a commitment to enhancing farming practices and supporting farmers in the region. With a focus on mechanization, financial assistance, and diversification, these programs are set to bring about positive changes in Punjab's agricultural landscape, benefiting both farmers and the overall economy.
