Stranded passengers seek government aid amid Arando road closure

The Arando road, connecting the Pak-Afghan border area, has faced another closure due to floods, leaving passengers stranded and vehicles stuck. After being shut for 10 days due to debris, the road had just reopened following efforts by the Communications and Works Department. However, heavy rains on Thursday triggered floods in various waterways, leading to the road's blockage once more.

Passengers, including women and children, were left stranded for hours as vehicles remained immobile. The C&W department has initiated clearing operations, pending the recession of floodwaters. Additionally, efforts are underway to desilt and clean the Drosh Goal drainage nullah and channelize the middle of Drosh Goal nullah to prevent future damage.
