The Supreme Court of Pakistan schedules a hearing for the Faizabad sit-in case, led by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa, to address the 2017 TLP protest and ensure accountability through legal proceedings.

The Supreme Court of Pakistan has scheduled a hearing for the Faizabad sit-in case, issuing notices to all concerned parties. The three-member bench, led by Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa, will convene on May 6 to address the matter. The Faizabad Dharna Commission's report, investigating the 2017 sit-in by Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan (TLP), will be presented to the court on behalf of the federal government.

The commission, established to probe the TLP protest, recommended the formulation of legislation and regulations to oversee the operations of intelligence agencies. Originally, the inquiry commission was expected to finalize and submit its report to the Supreme Court in January. However, due to delays, the federal government sought an extension, which was granted by the Apex Court.

During a previous hearing in November, the federal government informed the Supreme Court about the establishment of the commission to investigate the 2017 Faizabad sit-in by TLP. The ongoing legal proceedings aim to address the events surrounding the protest and ensure accountability.
