The Islamabad High Court dismisses a case against former Prime Minister Imran Khan, sparking controversy and debate over fairness in legal proceedings involving public figures.

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) recently made a decision regarding a case against former Prime Minister Imran Khan. The case, which aimed to disqualify Imran Khan for allegedly not disclosing his daughter in his nomination papers, was dismissed by a larger bench led by Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri, Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir, and Justice Saman Riffat. The court ruled that the matter had already been addressed previously, and a verdict had been issued.

During the proceedings, the petitioner's counsel, Mohammad Sajid, represented by lawyer Hamid Ali Shah, requested an adjournment, but the court pointed out that the case had already been concluded, with the verdict available on the court's website. Despite the petitioner's plea for more time to prepare arguments, the court deemed the case inadmissible.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) criticized the reopening of the case after a year, alleging that it was an unfair attempt to target Imran Khan. The party accused the IHC chief justice of bias for forming a new bench to hear the case despite a previous ruling by a three-judge bench. PTI also condemned what they described as baseless cases being filed against Imran Khan, including the Tyrian case.

In a separate incident, the opinion of two IHC judges who had heard a petition related to Imran Khan's alleged daughter was briefly published on the court's website before being taken down. Imran Khan, through his lawyer, argued that the case was not maintainable as he had already resigned from the National Assembly, rendering the court's jurisdiction invalid.

The dismissal of the case against Imran Khan by the Islamabad High Court has sparked controversy and debate. While the court cited previous decisions and rulings as the basis for its decision, PTI has raised concerns about the fairness of the proceedings. The case highlights the complexities of legal matters involving public figures and the importance of transparency and due process in such cases.
