Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar Advocates Constitutional Boundaries

Minister for Law and Justice Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar has underlined the significance of institutions operating within their constitutional limits. He specifically addressed the judiciary, cautioning against compelling senior military officers and government officials to appear in court regarding the case of missing poet Ahmed Farhad Shah.

The Islamabad High Court had expressed dissatisfaction with security agencies for their failure to locate Kashmiri poet and journalist Ahmed Farhad Shah. Minister Tarar assured full government support to the police in their efforts to find the missing poet. He also mentioned that the Defence Ministry had confirmed that Ahmed Farhad was not being held by any institution.

Minister Tarar reiterated that individuals have the right to seek legal recourse if their rights are violated, with the police being responsible for investigating such cases. He emphasized the importance of self-accountability to foster a conducive environment amidst economic and security challenges. Minister Tarar highlighted the need to address missing persons' issues as a crucial step towards enhancing the country's stability.

Furthermore, the government has taken proactive measures by establishing a committee involving various political parties to develop recommendations for the creation of a social media regulatory authority.
