Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao issues a stern warning to the government against reversing the 18th Constitutional Amendment. He highlights concerns over political practices, provincial autonomy, and irregularities in wheat procurement, emphasizing the importance of upholding constitutional principles for democracy's stability.

The Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) provincial Chairman, Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao, has issued a strong warning to the government regarding any potential attempts to reverse the 18th Constitutional Amendment. This warning comes amidst concerns over threats to provincial autonomy and the National Finance Commission Award, as outlined in the 1973 Constitution.

Speaking at a condolence event for the late party leader Asad Afridi Advocate, Sherpao commended Afridi's dedicated service to the Pakhtun community and his deep understanding of the region's geopolitical dynamics. He emphasized Afridi's efforts towards uplifting the underprivileged, highlighting the importance of upholding constitutional principles.

Sherpao criticized the current political landscape, labeling the post-2018 elections as a transition to a hybrid regime and the subsequent 2024 polls resulting in a 'hybrid plus' government. He called for an end to political experiments to ensure democracy's stability and urged all state institutions to operate within their constitutional boundaries.

Furthermore, Sherpao raised concerns about irregularities in the wheat procurement process by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) government. He accused the government of mistreating farmers by failing to purchase wheat from them, contradicting their claims of combating corruption and promoting good governance.

Sherpao's warning serves as a reminder of the importance of upholding the 18th Amendment and protecting provincial autonomy. His call for adherence to constitutional principles and criticism of political practices aim to ensure the stability of democracy in the region.
