Peshawar High Court addresses concerns over judicial interference

In a recent development, the Peshawar High Court (PHC) has responded to the Supreme Court regarding a suo motu case related to a letter from six Islamabad High Court (IHC) judges. The PHC's reply highlighted the judges' claims of experiencing trauma due to alleged interference by intelligence agencies in political cases brought before their bench.

The PHC's statement mentioned that some participants and judges had shared their distress over the reported interference during hearings. This revelation sheds light on the challenges faced by the judiciary in maintaining independence and impartiality in high-profile cases.

As a response to the concerns raised, the PHC outlined a protocol for handling such situations. It stated that upon receiving a report from a High Court judge, the Chief Justice would form a specialized bench comprising at least five senior judges to address and resolve the case effectively.
