Recent speculations on a potential PTI and establishment deal stir controversy in Islamabad. PTI's dialogue plans with military officials face criticism from the ruling coalition.

Recent speculations surrounding a potential deal between the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the establishment have stirred controversy in Islamabad. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi denied any knowledge of such an agreement, urging inquiries to be directed to those allegedly involved. The discussions gained momentum following PTI leader Shehryar Afridi's announcement of planned dialogues with the Chief of Army Staff and the Director General of the Inter-Services Intelligence, emphasizing the party's commitment to national progress without seeking a National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO).

Despite PTI's willingness to engage in dialogue, the ruling coalition, comprising the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), criticized PTI for what they perceive as a policy reversal. PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan clarified that while party leaders were nominated for talks, formal negotiations had not commenced. Additionally, discussions regarding the chairmanship of the Public Accounts Committee are ongoing, with Sher Afzal Marwat's nomination under consideration.

Addressing the potential reintegration of former PTI members, Gohar emphasized that the party founder retains the authority to make decisions on the matter. The evolving dynamics between PTI and other political entities underscore the complex landscape of Pakistani politics, with dialogue and negotiation playing pivotal roles in shaping the country's future.
