Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari finalize governor nominations for Punjab, K-P, and Balochistan, reflecting a power-sharing arrangement and potential shifts in Pakistan's political landscape.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari have finalized the names of governors for Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P), and Balochistan in a recent meeting at the Prime Minister House. Although no official announcement has been made, sources reveal that three nominees have been approved.

The first nominee is Saleem Haider, a PPP loyalist from Punjab's Attock district. Haider, a former federal minister and aide to the prime minister for overseas Pakistanis during the previous PML-N government, brings experience and political acumen to the role. Sardar Salim Haider, who previously served as the Foreign Minister, has been a Member of the National Assembly and currently heads the Bilawal-led party's Rawalpindi division.

Another nominee is Faisal Karim Kundi, who served as the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly from 2008 to 2013 and also held a position as an Adviser to the Prime Minister in the Pakistan Democratic Movement government. Jaffar Khan Mandokhail, the president of PML-N Balochistan chapter, is set to become the governor of Balochistan, aiming to facilitate cooperation between the province and the federal government for mutual progress.

In Sindh, the MQM-P will retain the governorship with Kamran Tessori continuing in his role, as decided by the Prime Minister. These appointments reflect a power-sharing arrangement between the PML-N and PPP, with each party securing key positions based on a mutual agreement. The PPP's decision not to join the federal cabinet post-budget reaffirms its stance against such involvement.

The political landscape in Pakistan continues to evolve as key positions are filled, signaling potential shifts in governance and cooperation among major parties.
