Residents of Karachi experienced a welcome relief from the scorching heat as light rain showers graced various parts of the city on Friday evening. The rain caused a slight drop in temperature, bringing much-needed respite to the residents. Areas such as Gulshan-e-Iqbal, University Road, and Gulistan-e-Johar received the drizzle, while other parts like Surjani Town, Scheme 33, Hawksbay, Baldia Town, Maripur, and Nazimabad also witnessed light rainfall. Weather experts predict that the city will continue to experience light precipitation along with strong winds over the next 24 hours. This weather phenomenon is attributed to the arrival of rain-producing cloud remnants from Balochistan, carried by western winds.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted windstorms, thunderstorms, and rain in isolated areas of Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, central and south Punjab, the Pothohar region, Islamabad, northeast and south Balochistan, as well as upper and central Sindh on Friday. While most parts of the country are expected to have hot and dry weather on Saturday, there are chances of rain, wind thunderstorms, and thunderstorms in isolated areas of Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa on Saturday. Central and south Punjab, northeast and south Balochistan, and upper and central Sindh may also experience rain accompanied by wind and thunderstorms on Saturday evening.

The unexpected light rain showers in Karachi brought relief to the residents from the prolonged heatwave. As weather patterns continue to shift, it is essential for individuals to stay informed about the changing weather conditions and be prepared for any upcoming changes. Stay safe and enjoy the cooler temperatures while they last!
