Tragic Rain Incidents in Pakistan Claim Lives and Damage Property

Several tragic incidents have occurred in different parts of Pakistan due to heavy rains, resulting in loss of lives and damage to property. In Luqman Banda area of Dir Lower, four family members lost their lives when the roof of their house collapsed during heavy rains. Similarly, in Shin Drang area of Bara tehsil, four members of a family were killed and six others injured due to a roof collapse. The Balochistan government has declared a rain and urban flood emergency following continuous heavy rains across the province.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Disaster Management Authority reported eight deaths and 12 injuries in the province, with 85 houses damaged. The Chief Ministers of both Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have directed immediate assistance to the affected families and provision of medical care to the injured.

Looking ahead, the Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast more rain, wind, and thunderstorms in various parts of the country. A strong westerly wave is expected to enter western parts of the country, affecting Balochistan and other regions. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Chitral, Dir, Swat, and other areas are likely to experience rain and snowfall over high mountains. Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir are also expected to receive rain and snowfall, while Punjab/Islamabad may face heavy falls and hailstorms.

As the weather conditions remain unpredictable, authorities are urged to take necessary precautions and provide support to those affected by the inclement weather.
