On Thursday, IS group militants carried out two deadly attacks on government-held areas in Syria, resulting in the deaths of 28 Syrian soldiers and pro-government forces. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that in eastern Homs province, 22 regular army soldiers and fighters from pro-government forces were killed when IS militants targeted a military bus. The majority of the victims belonged to the Quds Brigade, a group supported by Moscow. Additionally, six Syrian soldiers lost their lives in a separate attack near Albu Kamal in eastern Syria.
