Pakistan's iCube Qamar satellite is poised to enter the lunar orbit, showcasing the country's advancements in space technology. After successful launch, thorough verification processes will ensure satellite readiness for capturing the first image of the moon.
Pakistan's iCube Qamar satellite is set to make a significant milestone by entering the lunar orbit tomorrow, following its successful launch on May 3. This marks a crucial step in Pakistan's space exploration endeavors, showcasing the country's commitment to advancing its space technology capabilities.
After its launch earlier this month, iCube Qamar is scheduled to reach the moon's orbit between 3:30pm and 4pm tomorrow. Subsequently, starting from May 8, all systems onboard the satellite will undergo thorough verification processes to ensure their functionality and readiness for operation.
The eagerly awaited first image of the moon captured by iCube Qamar is expected to be received around May 15 or 16. Officials from the Space Technology Institute emphasize the importance of conducting comprehensive testing before the imaging system becomes fully operational. This includes a meticulous assessment period of approximately one week dedicated to testing the imaging sensors in orbit.
The successful deployment and operation of iCube Qamar not only signify Pakistan's progress in space technology but also highlight the country's dedication to scientific development and exploration beyond Earth's boundaries.
