Sri Lankan Government Directs Army for Disaster Relief

At least 26 individuals have tragically lost their lives in Sri Lanka due to heavy monsoon rains and mudslides. Despite the Sri Lankan weather bureau's forecast of reduced rainfall, the threat of floods remains significant. Numerous low-lying areas are still submerged under water. In light of this crisis, the government has taken the decision to close all schools post the weekend, with several educational institutions in the hard-hit southern province remaining shut on Tuesday.
