Deputy Commissioner Zaheer Anwar Jappa of Bahawalpur leads efforts to combat profiteering and hoarding through rigorous inspections, fines, and enforcement of fixed prices, ensuring transparency and consumer protection.

Deputy Commissioner Zaheer Anwar Jappa of Bahawalpur is leading the charge against profiteering and hoarding in the district. In a recent meeting, it was highlighted that proactive measures are being taken to tackle this issue effectively.

From June 3 to June 8, a total of 10,392 inspections were conducted at various establishments, resulting in fines totaling Rs 1.373 million being imposed on offenders. Additionally, one FIR was filed, 5 shops were sealed, and 86 individuals engaged in profiteering were apprehended.

During the meeting, attended by Assistant Commissioners, System Network Administrator Muhammad Azeem Zeeshan, and Price Control Magistrates, the importance of monitoring the field activities of Price Control Magistrates was emphasized. It was also stressed that displaying price lists prominently is crucial to ensure transparency and convenience for consumers.

The Deputy Commissioner instructed the Price Control Magistrates to enforce fixed prices for essential food items and to swiftly and impartially take legal action against any violations.

The efforts led by Deputy Commissioner Zaheer Anwar Jappa and his team in Bahawalpur to combat profiteering and hoarding are commendable.
