Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Zulqarnain in Punjab takes strict action against profiteers, ensures compliance with regulations, and prepares for Eid-ul-Azha, reflecting a commitment to consumer protection and upholding the rule of law.

Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Zulqarnain has taken decisive action against profiteers and hoarders in Punjab, imposing fines totaling Rs 9.51 million on those found guilty. A total of 32 individuals have been charged under the Price Control Act, leading to the arrest of 288 people and the sealing of 86 shops and warehouses. Zulqarnain stressed the importance of price magistrates conducting thorough inspections to ensure that vendors and retailers comply with regulations. To address customer complaints promptly, bi-weekly meetings will be held to assess the magistrates' performance.

As preparations for Eid-ul-Azha are underway, cattle markets are being set up in advance following the directives of the Chief Minister of Punjab. Zulqarnain has instructed local officials to make all necessary arrangements to facilitate the smooth operation of these markets. Furthermore, he has reviewed the progress of various initiatives such as the Suthra Punjab campaign, regulation of bread prices, enforcement of laws regarding wedding feasts, efforts to combat wheat residue burning, closure of illegal petrol pumps, and monitoring the sale of fertilizers at fixed rates.
