Port Qasim in Karachi experienced a busy day with seven ships handling various cargoes, emphasizing its role as a crucial maritime hub for trade and commerce.

Port Qasim in Karachi witnessed a flurry of shipping activity on Tuesday, with a total of seven ships being engaged at the berths. The ships included Xpress Salween, Maersk Detroit, Lokojo, MSC Sindy, Mara Thapolis, Lila Ace, and Loxley, carrying a variety of cargo such as containers, LNG, chemicals, and LPG.

During the last 24 hours, the port handled a cargo volume of 162,939 tonnes, comprising 115,152 tonnes of imports and 47,787 tonnes of exports. This cargo was carried in 4,717 containers, with 2,006 TEUs for imports and 2,711 TEUs for exports.

Currently, there are seven ships at the Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim, with five ships expected to take berths at various terminals for handling gas oil, LPG, containers, fertilizer, and palm oil. Additionally, the containership Sea-Span Beacon is due to arrive at Port Qasim on Thursday.
