Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) conducts a three-day faculty training program in collaboration with CEMCA, focusing on integrating artificial intelligence into teaching practices. The event, attended by teachers and students from various universities, featured international experts sharing insights on AI in education. AIOU's Vice Chancellor highlighted the university's commitment to AI professional development, with plans for more workshops in the future.

Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) recently organized a three-day faculty training program focusing on 'Empowering Educators: Integrating AI into Teaching Practices.' The event, held in collaboration with the Commonwealth Educational Media Center for Asia (CEMCA), aimed to enhance the skills of teachers in utilizing artificial intelligence in educational settings.

The workshop saw participation from teachers and students representing 37 universities across Pakistan. International experts from the United States, the United Kingdom, Sri Lanka, New Delhi, and Ireland also shared their knowledge on incorporating AI in teaching and research.

During the closing ceremony, Vice Chancellor of AIOU, Prof. Dr. Nasir Mahmood, emphasized the growing importance of artificial intelligence in various spheres of life, particularly in education. He announced that AIOU would conduct more workshops to train its faculty and staff in AI, highlighting the university's commitment to professional development.

Director of CEMCA, Bashir Ahmed, praised AIOU for its efforts in developing a skilled workforce for Pakistan and expressed interest in further collaborations. Dr. Zahid Majeed, Director of Directorate of Academic Planning and Course Production, outlined the workshop's objectives and revealed that 32 teachers attended in person, while others joined online.

The participants lauded the workshop as highly beneficial and expressed gratitude to the organizers. The event concluded with the Vice Chancellor distributing certificates to all attendees, marking a successful initiative in advancing AI integration in education.
