Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has been granted interim bails in 13 cases related to the May 9, 2023 violence and one linked to PTI founding chairman Imran Khan’s Islamabad Motorway Toll Plaza reception. The arrest warrants issued against him in connection with the May 9 violence have been cancelled, and his proclaimed offender status has been overturned.

Gandapur appeared before the courts, where he was granted interim bail till April 30 in the Toll Plaza reception case. Subsequently, the arrest warrants for Gandapur in connection with the May 9 violence were annulled by the anti-terrorism court (ATC) judge, who also overturned his proclaimed offender status. Interim bails were granted in all cases related to the May 9 mayhem, with the condition of submitting surety bonds.

The judge instructed the police not to arrest Gandapur in any of these cases and halted further proceedings, while summoning relevant records from all SHOs. Gandapur emphasized his party's respect for the judiciary and expressed confidence that Imran Khan would soon be released and return as the premier. He called for a commission to investigate allegations of judicial interference and highlighted the nation's awakening due to Imran's efforts. Gandapur also mentioned Imran's meeting with PM Shehbaz Sharif, noting that Imran had no objections as Sharif currently leads the country.
