An anti-terrorism court extends the interim bail of the PTI founder in multiple violent cases, allowing him to address allegations while ensuring his presence at upcoming hearings amidst legal challenges.

An anti-terrorism court (ATC) has decided to extend the interim bail of the PTI founder in three cases related to violent incidents until June 12. The court has directed the jail authorities to ensure the PTI founder's presence through a video link at the next hearing and has requested the case records.

ATC Judge Khalid Arshad oversaw the proceedings regarding the bail petitions of the PTI founder in cases involving attacks on Jinnah House, Askari Tower, and the torching of Shadman Police station. Earlier, on August 11, 2023, the ATC had denied the pre-arrest bails of the PTI founder in seven cases due to his absence, as he was in custody following a conviction in the Toshakhana case. However, the Lahore High Court overturned the ATC's decision and reinstated his bail petitions after a successful petition by the PTI founder.

In addition, another ATC has recently affirmed the interim bail of the PTI founder in four more cases related to an attack on police outside Zaman Park, the murder of PTI activist Zille Shah, the burning of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz office in Model Town, and a container at Kalma Chowk.

The PTI founder has been facing legal challenges in various cases stemming from violent incidents. The recent extension of his interim bail allows him to continue his legal proceedings without being detained during this period.

The ATC's decision to extend the PTI founder's interim bail provides him with the opportunity to address the allegations against him while ensuring his presence at the upcoming hearings. This development marks a significant step in the ongoing legal saga surrounding the PTI founder's involvement in multiple cases.
