BSEK and BIEK in Karachi reschedule matric and intermediate exams due to heatwave alert. Despite favorable weather conditions, students advised to rely on official announcements.

The Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) has officially dismissed the circulated timetable for the postponed matriculation exams that were shared on social media platforms. The decision to delay the remaining matric and ninth class papers was made by the Universities and Boards Department in response to a heatwave alert. BSEK exam controller Khalid Ehsan emphasized that the exams were rescheduled to ensure the safety of students from the extreme heat. The new dates for the exams will be announced shortly by the Board.

Furthermore, the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) also faced a similar situation with the postponement of exams originally scheduled to start on May 22. The examination process has been rescheduled to begin on May 27, extending the delay by five days. This decision was taken due to heatwave concerns in the region. However, Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz has confirmed that Karachi is not at risk of a heatwave in the upcoming week. The city is currently experiencing a sea breeze, which is helping to alleviate any heatwave worries. The weather forecast indicates hot temperatures ranging from 36℃ to 38℃ for the next 10 days, with varying levels of humidity.

While the exams have been postponed for student safety, the weather conditions in Karachi seem to be more favorable than initially anticipated. Students and parents can expect the revised exam timetable to be released promptly by the respective Boards. It is essential for everyone to stay updated with official announcements and avoid relying on unofficial information circulating on social media.
