A new Waste Management Company modeled after Lahore's success is set to revolutionize sanitation and solid waste management in Islamabad. The initiative focuses on effective waste management programs, infrastructure development, and making the city cleaner and more sustainable.

A new Waste Management Company is set to be established in Islamabad, following the model of the successful Lahore Waste Management Company. This initiative aims to enhance sanitation and solid waste management practices in the capital city. The decision was made during a meeting led by the Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), along with key officials from the CDA's Environment department.

The primary focus of this specialized company will be on managing solid waste effectively and implementing comprehensive waste management programs across Islamabad. Once operational, the company will cover the entire city, introducing different waste disposal categories. These categories will include separate systems for residential, commercial, and hospital waste, as well as green waste.

In addition to waste collection and disposal, the Capital Waste Management Company will also work on enhancing the city's waste infrastructure. This includes the establishment of a landfill site, for which land acquisition processes are already underway. The company will also be responsible for maintaining waste transfer stations and setting up recycling and material recovery facilities.

The establishment of the Capital Waste Management Company in Islamabad marks a significant step towards improving the city's sanitation and waste management practices. With a focus on effective waste management programs and infrastructure development, this initiative is poised to make Islamabad a cleaner and more sustainable city for its residents and visitors.
