Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is leading efforts to modernize public libraries in Sindh, aiming to provide students with essential resources. This initiative was highlighted by Provincial Minister Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah during a recent meeting of the Directorate of Public Libraries in Karachi. Currently, Sindh boasts 44 libraries spread across six divisions, but there is a pressing need for expansion to cater to the increasing number of students and readers.

One of the major challenges faced in enhancing library services is the staffing shortage resulting from unfilled positions since 2013. To address this issue, an e-library portal has been introduced, offering a vast collection of over 100 million books for convenient access from anywhere at any time.

Minister Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah reiterated the government's dedication to improving library facilities and book collections. He pledged to personally inspect all libraries to ensure transparency, accountability, and efficient service delivery. Emphasizing the importance of serving the public interest, he cautioned against misinformation or negligence in library operations.

The meeting, attended by DG Libraries Sindh Ejaz Sheikh and other key officials, underscored the commitment to advancing the accessibility and quality of public libraries in Sindh.
