Recent incidents in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan have highlighted the ongoing challenges faced by security forces in maintaining peace and security in the region. In Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa's Tank district, a police vehicle assigned to protect a polio team came under attack by militants in the Gulda Khala area. Fortunately, all personnel, including DSP Syed Marjan, escaped unharmed. In a separate encounter, police in K-P successfully neutralized three terrorists in retaliatory firing at a checkpoint, following a tip-off about their presence in the area. The recovered weapons and ammunition underscore the persistent threat posed by militants in the region.

Meanwhile, in Balochistan's Dukki district, two landmine explosions resulted in several injuries. The first explosion occurred on a track, with the second detonating as people gathered at the site. The injured individuals have been promptly taken to the nearest hospital for medical treatment, while authorities have launched an investigation into the incidents to determine the perpetrators behind these attacks.

The District Health Authority (DHA) has collaborated with the police department to ensure the security of polio workers during the ongoing anti-polio campaign. With the participation of numerous mobile teams, fixed centres, transit centres, and UC MOs, the campaign aims to administer polio drops to children in sensitive areas over a seven-day period. This joint effort reflects the commitment of security forces and health authorities to combat the spread of polio and safeguard public health.
