Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar Addresses Key Issues

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar recently addressed a range of crucial issues during his speech, covering topics such as the Pak-Iran gas pipeline, Pakistan's participation in international affairs at the OIC Summit, and the imperative to combat Islamophobia. Dar emphasized Pakistan's autonomy in decision-making, expressed concerns about the situation in IIOJ&K and terrorism stemming from Afghanistan, and discussed the upcoming visits from Saudi leadership. He also stressed the significance of upholding boundaries in freedom of expression and refuted allegations related to wheat imports and the dysfunction of the FBR system.

Regarding the Pak-Iran gas pipeline, Dar highlighted that decisions will be made in the best interests of the nation to address energy needs and fulfill international commitments. He made it clear that Pakistan will not allow any external pressure to influence its decisions, asserting the country's sovereignty.

At the 15th OIC Summit, Pakistan played an active role in advocating for a ceasefire in Gaza, combating Islamophobia, and shedding light on the situation in IIOJ&K. The OIC responded to Pakistan's recommendations by appointing a special representative to address Islamophobia incidents and calling for a ceasefire in Gaza, cessation of force, and aid for Palestine. Pakistan also urged India to reverse its actions in IIOJ&K, end human rights violations, and release Kashmiri prisoners.

Looking towards the future, Pakistan anticipates the visit of Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman, with preparations already underway. The nation reiterated its commitment to stability and peace in the region, emphasizing friendly relations with neighboring countries, including Afghanistan. Pakistan raised concerns about recent terrorism incidents, attributing attacks on Chinese nationals to Afghan soil.

Deputy Prime Minister Dar emphasized that freedom of expression in Pakistan must adhere to relevant laws and boundaries, underscoring the importance of respecting national interests and state institutions. He also refuted claims regarding his involvement in wheat import decisions and the functioning of the Track and Trace System of FBR during the previous government's tenure.
