The Director General of Health in Sindh refutes claims of medication shortage at hospitals, emphasizing the availability of essential medicines like ORS and the active efforts to provide adequate care to patients.
Recently, the Director General of Health in Sindh addressed a news report that alleged a shortage of Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) and other medicines at Civil Hospital Karachi and other hospitals in the province. The official strongly denied these claims, emphasizing that there is no scarcity of ORS or essential medications in Karachi or elsewhere in Sindh.
The Director General clarified that the news report inaccurately stated that 40 to 45 heat stroke patients at Civil Hospital Karachi were quickly treated and discharged. The additional medical superintendent of the hospital also confirmed that 300 to 400 patients had received treatment in the past week, highlighting the availability of necessary medical supplies including ORS.
It is essential to rely on verified information from official sources to avoid spreading misinformation. The health authorities in Sindh are actively ensuring the availability of vital medicines like ORS to provide adequate care to patients in need.
