The recent convocation at Allama Iqbal Open University in Peshawar, graced by Governor KP Faisal Karim Kundi, celebrated academic achievements and highlighted the transformative power of education in Pakistan.

The recent convocation of Allama Iqbal Open University (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chapter) in Peshawar was a momentous occasion, graced by Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Faisal Karim Kundi, and presided over by Vice Chancellor (VC) AIOU, Prof. Dr Nasir Mahmood. The event celebrated the academic achievements of students and highlighted the university's significant contributions to education in Pakistan.

Governor KP, Faisal Karim Kundi, commended AIOU for its exceptional educational services nationwide, particularly recognizing initiatives like providing free education to prisoners, children of martyrs, and transgenders. He emphasized the transformative power of education and urged students to use their knowledge for positive change and national pride.

During the ceremony, Faisal Karim Kundi stressed the importance of quality education and the continuous enhancement of educational standards over mere quantity. He also announced plans to appoint vice-chancellors for 26 universities in the province, underscoring the government's commitment to academic excellence.

VC, AIOU, Prof. Dr Nasir Mahmood, highlighted the university's rich educational legacy, celebrating its golden jubilee and the graduation of over 50 lac students. He emphasized AIOU's widespread recognition across Pakistan as a symbol of quality education and academic success.

Registrar, Raja Umer Younis, acknowledged AIOU as a valuable institution established by former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto. He praised the significant impact of AIOU graduates in various educational institutions nationwide, showcasing the university's enduring influence in the field of education.

In a heartwarming moment, the governor and the VC awarded degrees to 246 deserving male and female students, with 42 students receiving prestigious gold medals for their outstanding academic accomplishments.
