A milestone achieved in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province with the first drug prevention workshop equipping teachers to create a safer educational environment.

A significant milestone was achieved in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province as a three-day training workshop on drug prevention was conducted at the Directorate of Professional Development in Peshawar. This workshop marked the first of its kind in the province's history, aiming to equip 66 male and female teachers from middle schools in Peshawar with essential skills under the title 'Hum Saath Hayin' as part of the Life Skills Teacher Training and Youth Empowerment Program.

The training workshop, which focused on drug prevention, saw the active participation of Senator Mohsin Aziz and Deputy Secretary Reforms Education Department Shazia Atta as special guests during the closing ceremony. Master trainers including Lubna Ghani Hayauddin, Tasneem Akhtar Mir, and Jahanzeb Zaheer, along with senior instructors, led the sessions, emphasizing the importance of implementing drug prevention programs in educational institutions.

The speakers commended the efforts put forth during the workshop, highlighting its uniqueness in addressing drug prevention within the educational framework of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Certificates were distributed among the trained teachers, who were also provided with booklets and training materials to facilitate their role in educating students on this critical topic.

The successful completion of the training workshop underscores the commitment of educators in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to address the pressing issue of drug prevention within school settings. By empowering teachers with the necessary skills and resources, the initiative aims to create a safer and more informed environment for students, paving the way for a healthier future generation.
