Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture Authority Hosts Spring Festival in Orakzai

A three-day spring festival named 'Jashan-e-Baharan' is set to kick off in Orakzai district on June 7, aiming to enhance tourism and generate employment opportunities for the local community. Organized by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority, in collaboration with the Tourism Wing for merged districts, District Administration Orakzai, and Pakistan Army, this event promises a vibrant celebration of culture and sports.

The festival will feature an array of traditional and modern games, including local traditional games, inter-school competitions, cricket, football, volleyball, and cycling races. Attendees can immerse themselves in the rich cultural heritage through stalls representing all four provinces, relish traditional cuisine, and witness captivating performances of music, dance, and archery.

Director General Barkatullah Marwat emphasized the festival's core objective of promoting tourism in Orakzai and fostering local employment opportunities. Noteworthy tourist attractions have been unveiled in Orakzai to entice visitors, aligning with the vision of Advisor Zahid Chanzeb to enhance the region's tourism infrastructure.

As part of the festival, camping pods will be established at Samana, and the inauguration of Orakzai Resort will provide tourists with comfortable accommodation options amidst picturesque surroundings. These initiatives aim to elevate the overall tourism experience and attract more visitors to explore the beauty of Orakzai district.
