Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister announces increased assistance for laborers on International Labor Day, emphasizing welfare, rights, and economic growth.

On the occasion of International Labor Day, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, Sardar Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, announced a significant increase in assistance packages for laborers in the province. The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of recognizing the pivotal role of laborers in national and economic development, highlighting the need to enhance their welfare and rights.

During a ceremony held in Peshawar, Chief Minister Gandapur revealed plans to double the financial support provided to laborers, citing the rise in revenue of the provincial labor department as a reason for the increase. He also pledged to appoint wage magistrates to ensure that laborers receive the minimum wages set by the government, with salaries to be transferred through bank accounts for transparency.

As a gesture of support, the Chief Minister made an online transfer of Rs177.5 million to the accounts of laborers for educational expenses of their children, benefiting over 22,000 students. Additionally, he directed the prompt handover of 2056 residential flats constructed for laborers in Peshawar, emphasizing transparency in the process.

Furthermore, Chief Minister Gandapur outlined the government's commitment to safeguarding laborers' rights through new legislation and reforms, with input from labor representatives. He assured that the government would prevent any exploitation of the labor class and create a conducive environment for investors to promote economic growth and job opportunities in the province.
