The Lahore YMCA, in collaboration with YMCA branches worldwide, celebrated the 180th anniversary of the YMCA Foundation Day. Esteemed leaders gathered to honor outstanding individuals and emphasize youth empowerment through essential skills and community service.

The Lahore YMCA, in conjunction with YMCA branches across 120 countries, recently marked the 180th anniversary of the YMCA Foundation Day. This global movement traces its roots back to June 6, 1844, in London, UK, and has since grown to impact millions worldwide.

The commemorative event brought together esteemed leaders from diverse fields, including Punjab Minister for Human Rights and Minority Affairs Ramesh Singh Arora, President YMCA Asghar Suleman, and General Secretary Emanuel Sarfraz. The ceremony featured an award presentation recognizing individuals for their outstanding contributions to society.

Among the notable awardees were journalist Shabbir Azam, political figures Rahila Khadam Hussain and Baba Failbus, and other distinguished personalities. The Lahore YMCA, established in 1876, has a rich history of community service, particularly in youth development and women's empowerment.

During the event, Emanuel Sarfraz emphasized the YMCA's dedication to equipping youth with essential skills, including upcoming programs on computer literacy and artificial intelligence education. He also commended Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz's efforts in supporting the Christian community, underscoring the significance of fostering unity among individuals of diverse faiths.
