Landlord and Servants Arrested for Animal Cruelty

Two recent incidents of animal cruelty have shocked the nation, highlighting the urgent need for stricter laws and enforcement to protect animals from such heinous acts.

In Rawat, Rawalpindi district, a female donkey fell victim to a brutal act of mutilation when a heartless individual cut off her ears. The reason behind this inhumane act was the donkey wandering into the perpetrator's fields and causing damage to crops. Despite the owner's attempts to seek justice through the local police, no action has been taken yet. The incident, which occurred on June 4, faced a delayed response from the authorities, with a case being considered only after 14 days. Currently, an investigation is ongoing, but legal disputes between the involved parties complicate the situation.

Meanwhile, in Sanghar district, a landlord named Rustum Shar and his servants were arrested for cruelly severing the leg of a camel that had strayed into their field in search of food. A video showing the perpetrators proudly displaying the severed leg led to their apprehension. The barbarity of this act sparked widespread outrage on social media, prompting calls for government intervention. Notably, efforts are underway to provide a prosthetic leg for the injured camel, with support coming from Dubai. The camel's owner, Soomar Behan, initially did not report the incident to authorities but later cooperated following public outcry.
