The Lahore General Hospital administration emphasizes vigilance in treating heat strokes, highlighting preventive measures and free medical services during extreme weather conditions.

The Lahore General Hospital (LGH) administration has issued a directive urging healthcare professionals to remain vigilant in treating individuals affected by the current extreme weather conditions and heat strokes. All medical services at LGH will be provided free of charge in line with the Punjab government's policy.

Professor Al-Fareed Zafar, Principal of the Post Graduate Medical Institute/LGH, has highlighted the impact of global warming and increasing pollution levels on the rising incidents of heat strokes. He emphasized the severe effects on the body's internal systems as temperatures continue to rise.

Dr. Muhammad Maqsood, Assistant Professor of Medicine, outlined the symptoms of heat stroke, which include dry skin, confusion, rapid heartbeat, and seizures. Early signs such as muscle stiffness, lack of sweating despite high temperatures, and excessive fatigue should prompt immediate medical attention.

Dr. Laila Shafiq, a Gynecologist, provided preventive measures to avoid heat strokes during extreme weather. Recommendations include refraining from outdoor activities in hot weather, covering the head with a damp cloth, wearing light-colored clothing, increasing fluid intake, and using Oral Rehydration Salts (ORS) to address salt deficiency.

The proactive measures implemented by the LGH administration aim to mitigate the risks associated with extreme heat and safeguard the well-being of the public during the ongoing heatwave.
