Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad confirms Eid ul Adha date

Eid ul Adha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, is a significant religious event celebrated by Muslims worldwide. In Pakistan, Eid ul Adha is scheduled to be celebrated on June 17, 2024, following the sighting of the Zil Hajj moon on Friday. The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee in Karachi, led by Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad, confirmed the moon sighting, setting the date for Eid ul Adha.

Eid ul Adha falls on the tenth day of Zil Hajj, which coincides with the Hajj pilgrimage, one of the five pillars of Islam. Zil Hajj is the final month of the Islamic calendar, culminating in the celebration of Eid ul-Adha in Pakistan and around the world. The announcement of the Eid date was made after a press conference held by the Ruet body members following sunset.

The Zil Hajj moon sighting was also confirmed in Peshawar by the Zonal Sighting of the Crescent Committee. This verification further solidifies the Eid ul Adha date, marking the beginning of the Islamic month of Zul-Hijjah, leading up to the celebration of Eid al-Adha.

During Eid ul Adha, Muslims commemorate Hazrat Ibrahim's (A.S) willingness to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to Allah SWT.
