Karachi prepares for Eid ul-Adha 2024 with official rates, moon sighting, and cattle markets for sacrificial animals.

As the auspicious festival of Eid ul-Adha approaches, the Karachi Meat Merchants Association has announced the official rates for animal slaughtering services. The rates for sacrificing animals on the first day of Eid are set at Rs20,000 for a cow, Rs10,000 for a goat, and Rs40,000 for a camel. These rates are expected to decrease significantly on the subsequent days of Eid, offering a more affordable option for those looking to perform the ritual.

The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is gearing up to meet and sight the Zil Hajj moon, which will determine the exact date of Eid ul-Adha. According to the MET office's projections, if the month of Zilqad in Pakistan lasts 29 days, Zil Hajj will begin on June 8, with Eid ul-Adha 2024 falling on June 17. To facilitate the buying and selling of sacrificial animals, Karachi Commissioner Hassan Naqvi has announced the establishment of 22 cattle markets across seven districts of Karachi. These markets will serve as convenient locations for individuals to purchase animals for the upcoming festival.

As the city prepares for Eid ul-Adha 2024, it is recommended for residents to stay updated on moon sighting results, slaughtering services, and other relevant information. Keeping abreast of these developments will ensure a smooth and fulfilling experience during this joyous occasion.
