Islam, as stated by Chairman Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee and Chairman Interfaith Council for Peace and Harmony Pakistan, Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad, is a religion that upholds peace and guarantees the protection of minorities' rights. Speaking at the 'Interfaith Peace and Harmony Conference' in Faisalabad, Maulana Azad emphasized the importance of spreading the message of respect for all divine books to foster interfaith harmony and national unity. He called upon religious scholars to combat terrorism, extremism, and sectarianism in Pakistan, urging them to promote love and respect for the armed forces and security agencies.
Maulana Azad highlighted the role of social media in inciting anarchy and praised the efforts of the armed forces in thwarting anti-Pakistan elements. He mentioned the edict against extremism and sectarianism endorsed by over 10,000 Muftis and religious scholars, emphasizing the need for unity among different schools of thought. The conference attendees, including Maulana Zahid Mehmood Qasmi, Bishop Andreas Rehmat, and other prominent figures, condemned the Israeli aggression in Gaza and called for international intervention to address the crisis promptly.
