Islamabad Traffic Police introduces a new initiative to issue driving licenses to all residents, including elderly and students, emphasizing inclusive citizen services and government commitment to improving quality of life in the capital.

In a significant move to improve citizen services, Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has announced a new initiative to issue driving licenses to all residents, irrespective of their residential address. This inclusive service will also cater to elderly residents by delivering their permits directly to their homes.

The Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, unveiled this initiative during the launch of ITP’s Mobile Facilitation and Educational Units. Minister Naqvi highlighted the government's commitment to providing comprehensive services to the citizens of Islamabad, with a particular focus on streamlining the licensing process.

One of the key features of this new service is the facilitation of students in obtaining licenses at their educational institutions, eliminating the need for them to visit licensing centers separately. Minister Naqvi emphasized, 'Today, we are introducing a service to simplify the process of obtaining and renewing learner’s and driving licenses for college and university students.'

Furthermore, Minister Naqvi assured that the ITP will issue licenses to all citizens without discrimination, regardless of their temporary or permanent residence status outside Islamabad. He also addressed the traffic challenges in the capital and announced upcoming projects aimed at improving the situation.

In addition, Minister Naqvi reiterated the government's commitment to adhering to the Supreme Court's directives on tackling encroachments in public spaces, emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy towards such violations.

The initiative by Islamabad Traffic Police to issue driving licenses to all residents, including elderly citizens and students, marks a significant step towards enhancing citizen services in the capital. The commitment to providing efficient and inclusive services reflects the government's dedication to improving the overall quality of life for Islamabad's residents.
