Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Religious Affairs, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, recently made significant statements on a range of topics during a press interaction. He expressed his willingness to grant relief to former Punjab chief minister Parvaiz Elahi if given the authority, emphasizing that the decision ultimately lies with the courts where Elahi's lawyers are actively involved.

Minister Salik also commented on the ongoing protests by PTI against the 2024 election results, questioning the purpose of demonstrations when legal processes were already in motion. He stressed the importance of clarity in objectives when exercising the right to protest.

Furthermore, Salik expressed confidence in the coalition government's ability to fulfill its election promises despite potential challenges. He anticipated positive developments in the country's economy in the near future.

Addressing the recent attack on Chinese engineers, the minister acknowledged its adverse impact on Pakistan-China relations. He suggested the possible involvement of external elements in the terrorist incident, which he believed had set back the country's progress by a year.

In response to queries, Salik assured that the Ministry of Religious Affairs would enhance facilities for Hajj pilgrims, including accommodation, food, and transport. He also pledged personal assistance to the pilgrims during their journey.

On the issue of Palestine, Minister Salik criticized the silence of the Muslim Ummah regarding the suffering of innocent children and women in Gaza. He condemned the Israeli prime minister's actions as a blatant violation of United Nations resolutions.

Minister Salik Hussain's comprehensive statements shed light on various pressing issues, from legal matters to international relations and religious affairs. His commitment to improving conditions for citizens and Hajj pilgrims, as well as his vocal stance on global injustices, reflects a proactive approach to governance and diplomacy.
