Multan police successfully intercepted a drug smuggling attempt, arresting two suspects and seizing 24 kilograms of Hashish. A total of 92 drug peddlers have been apprehended, dealing a significant blow to the illegal drug trade in the area.

In a recent development, the Qutabpur police in Multan successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle drugs into the city. Two individuals, including a woman, were apprehended during a targeted operation carried out on Monday. Acting on the directives of City Police Officer Sadiq Ali Dogar, the police, led by SP Cantt Division Javed Tahir Majeed, intensified efforts to crack down on drug peddlers ahead of Eid-Ul-Fiter to prevent any potential security threats.

The police team, headed by SHO Faizan Ali Raza, managed to arrest two suspects, Saifullah and Saba Bibi, seizing 24 kilograms of Hashish intended for distribution across the district. Saifullah, a resident of Bannu (Peshawar), was intercepted while en route from Peshawar to Multan with the illicit substance. Saba Bibi, based in Multan, played a crucial role in facilitating the delivery of drugs to other associated dealers. Authorities have vowed to dismantle the entire drug supply network in the region, with plans to apprehend all involved individuals.

During the ongoing crackdown, a total of 92 drug peddlers have been apprehended in the past week alone. The police have successfully confiscated 70 kilograms of Hashish, three kilograms of Ice, and various other narcotics during these operations, signaling a significant blow to the illegal drug trade in the area.
