Nazimabad Town Implements Ban on Selling Cigarettes to Minors

Nazimabad Town has taken a significant step towards reducing tobacco consumption among its youth by implementing a ban on selling cigarettes to individuals under 18 years old. This initiative is part of a broader effort to create a healthier environment and raise awareness about the dangers of tobacco use.

A recent training session conducted by Zafar Solangi, a prominent figure in the Sindh Department's anti-tobacco campaign, emphasized the harmful effects of tobacco and the importance of educating the community. Chairman Syed Muhammad Muzaffar highlighted the need for collective action in enforcing anti-tobacco laws and urged everyone to support this crucial public health initiative.

As a result of a resolution passed by the town council, a comprehensive public awareness campaign has been launched to ensure that all public spaces in Nazimabad Town, including parks, public transport, offices, schools, and health facilities, are completely tobacco-free zones. Furthermore, the sale of cigarettes and other tobacco products within a fifty-meter radius of schools is now strictly prohibited to safeguard minors from the detrimental impacts of tobacco.

The proactive measures taken by Nazimabad Town to restrict access to tobacco products for individuals under 18 and create tobacco-free environments in public spaces demonstrate a strong commitment to promoting public health and protecting the well-being of its residents, especially the youth.
