The National Investigation Agency seizes properties of Jaish-e-Mohammed member in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir, highlighting the agency's commitment to combating terrorism in the region.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken a significant step in the fight against terrorism by seizing seven properties in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir. These properties belong to Sartaj Ahmed Mantoo, a key member of the banned terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). The properties, which include land in Kisarigam, were confiscated under the UA (P) Act, 1967.

Mantoo, who was arrested in January 2020, is facing charges under various acts for his involvement in transporting terrorists to the Kashmir Valley and planning attacks against security forces. JeM, established by Maulana Masood Azhar in 2000, has a notorious history of carrying out terrorist activities in India, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir. The group is designated as a 'Designated Foreign Terrorist Organisation' by the United Nations Security Council.

The recent actions taken by the NIA in seizing the properties of JeM militants underscore the agency's unwavering commitment to combating terrorism in the region.

The seizure of Sartaj Ahmed Mantoo's properties is a significant blow to the operations of Jaish-e-Mohammed in Jammu and Kashmir. It serves as a strong message that individuals involved in terrorist activities will face severe consequences. The NIA's proactive measures in targeting the financial assets of terrorist groups like JeM are crucial in disrupting their networks and ensuring the safety and security of the region.
