ICT Police Raises Vehicle Verification Fees in Islamabad

Police in the federal capital have announced a significant increase in vehicle verification fees, despite efforts to simplify the process for public convenience. A notification issued by the office of the Inspector General of Police stated that new fees have been introduced for various services provided by the ICT Police in Islamabad, effective immediately.

Under the new fee structure, the cost of motorcycle verification has been raised from Rs500 to Rs1,000. Motor car verification now comes with a price tag of Rs1,500, while the fee for motor car verification with a forensic component has been set at Rs3,500. Additionally, individuals seeking a Police Character Certificate will now have to pay Rs1,000, and the fee for Police General Verification has also been fixed at Rs1,000.

The notification emphasized that all In-Charge's and Operators stationed at different facilitation centers must ensure the collection of the revised fees and deposit them, along with generated statements, into the welfare account of the ICT Police.

The move to increase vehicle verification fees in Islamabad comes as a surprise to many, especially considering the initial efforts to streamline and simplify the verification process for the public.
