The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) introduces the e-Bikes Portal initiative, providing interest-free motorcycles to Punjab students, aiming to ease transportation costs and support education.

The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) has launched the e-Bikes Portal initiative in Lahore, aiming to provide 20,000 interest-free motorcycles on installments to students in Punjab. This innovative scheme is designed to offer students easy access to motorcycles through a down payment and monthly installments plan. The initiative is open to regular students of government or private graduate colleges/universities in Punjab who are 18 years or older.

Since the launch of the e-Bikes Portal, more than 16,000 online applications have been received, with over 13,500 students applying for petrol bikes and over 3,800 for e-bikes. The Punjab government will cover the mark-up for the selected students. In the initial phase, e-bikes will be distributed in Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Bahawalpur, and Rawalpindi, while petrol bikes will be distributed in other districts across Punjab.

Students interested in availing themselves of this opportunity can apply on the official website bikes.punjab.gov.pk until the deadline on April 29. PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf emphasized that this transparent system will streamline the process of obtaining bikes for students, ultimately supporting education in Punjab.

In conclusion, the e-Bikes Portal initiative by PITB is set to benefit thousands of students in Punjab by providing them with a convenient and affordable means of transportation. By easing the financial burden associated with owning a motorcycle, this initiative contributes to enhancing access to education and opportunities for students across the region.
