PML-N leaders announce ambitious plans to revitalize Murree, focusing on modern infrastructure, bilateral cooperation with UAE, and enhancing tourism facilities.

During a recent meeting at Punjab House Murree, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif and President PML-N Muhammad Nawaz Sharif announced ambitious plans to revitalize the historic town of Murree. The focus of the meeting was on restoring ancient buildings and creating a modern 'Murree Street' inspired by global standards.

The proposed initiatives include the introduction of a 'Smart Tram' system, the construction of a multi-storey Parking Plaza capable of accommodating more than 1500 vehicles, and the installation of digital counting cameras at entry points to enhance security. A comprehensive Traffic Management Plan was also approved, along with repairs for the Murree Cable Car Service.

For the convenience of tourists, the authorities plan to build high-quality toilets at Motorway sites, establish facilities for differently-abled individuals and children, and set up a wheelchair center on the Mall Road. Additionally, discussions were held regarding the development of an 'Entertainment Park and Clipping Pod Village' to enhance recreational options for visitors.

The meeting underscored the importance of addressing encroachments and illegal constructions in Murree. Financial assistance will be provided to injured workers during anti-encroachment drives, with Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif emphasizing the need to continue these efforts. President Muhammad Nawaz Sharif called for legislative amendments to better serve the public interest.

Moreover, talks with UAE Ambassador Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al-Zaabi centered on bilateral relations and UAE's substantial investment of 10 billion dollars in Pakistan. Both parties agreed to collaborate on agricultural, trade, and investment ventures, with a specific focus on agricultural development, livestock, and dairy farming. The leaders expressed appreciation for the UAE's investment and highlighted the strong ties between the two nations.

In response to recent heavy rains, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif extended condolences for the lives lost and instructed authorities to provide the best possible care for the injured. She urged vigilance to prevent further incidents resulting from the inclement weather.

The plans unveiled at the meeting in Murree signal a significant step towards modernizing the town and enhancing its appeal to tourists. With a focus on infrastructure development, tourism facilities, and bilateral cooperation, the initiatives aim to transform Murree into a world-class destination while fostering strong international partnerships.
