PTI Leader Ali Zaman Advocate Attacked in Peshawar

An unfortunate incident occurred in the Faqirabad area of Peshawar, where Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ali Zaman Advocate was viciously attacked by unknown individuals. The assault, which involved the use of a sharp object, resulted in Ali Zaman sustaining injuries that necessitated immediate medical attention at Lady Reading Hospital. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur personally visited Ali Zaman at the hospital to assess his condition and show support.

Subsequent to Ali Zaman's complaint, a First Information Report (FIR) was registered at the Faqirabad police station. The FIR named Assistant Commissioner Samira Sabah, her husband, and four others, with serious charges including terrorism. The document outlines the events leading to the attack, indicating that Ali Zaman was deliberately targeted on his way home, with AC Samira Sabah's husband allegedly orchestrating the assault alongside accomplices who attempted to cause him harm. During the altercation, the attackers also confiscated Ali Zaman's mobile phone and car keys.

Ali Zaman made allegations against AC Samira Sabah, who had previously served as the Returning Officer in his constituency during the elections. He claimed that she had unlawfully interfered with his electoral mandate. Additionally, he accused her husband of filing a false FIR against him in the past and issuing threats on his life. It is noteworthy that Ali Zaman Advocate had been nominated by PTI for a provincial assembly seat from Peshawar.

The assault on Ali Zaman Advocate has sparked a legal process with the registration of an FIR against the Assistant Commissioner and her husband. This incident sheds light on the importance of upholding the rule of law and ensuring the safety of political representatives. Such acts of violence have no place in a democratic society and must be condemned unequivocally.
