ASI Maroof Shah shot dead in Peshawar attack

An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) named Maroof Shah was tragically shot and killed by unidentified assailants in Peshawar. The incident occurred late Monday night in the Sheikh Muhammadi area within the jurisdiction of Badaber Police Station. ASI Maroof Shah was attacked while returning home from a mosque after offering prayers. He sustained serious injuries and was immediately taken to Lady Reading Hospital, where he later succumbed to his wounds.

SSP Operations Kashif Zulfiqar has confirmed the death of the police officer due to the attack. Following the incident, a search operation was launched in the area. Additionally, in response to the tragic event, KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur instructed the issuance of a notification to all deputy commissioners and deputy police officers on Tuesday.

The loss of ASI Maroof Shah has deeply saddened the law enforcement community and the residents of Peshawar. The authorities are actively investigating the incident to bring the perpetrators to justice and ensure the safety of the public in the region.
