The Punjab Cabinet Committee, led by Provincial Minister Bilal Yasin, takes a strong stance against exam cheating and irregularities. Strict actions, zero-tolerance policy, and enhanced monitoring proposed to safeguard student futures.

A recent meeting of the Cabinet Committee in Punjab, chaired by Provincial Minister Bilal Yasin, focused on investigating the issue of cheating in exams and other irregularities in the ongoing examination process. The meeting, attended by key officials including Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat, expressed serious concern over the reported irregularities during recent examinations across various districts, notably in Lahore.

Bilal Yasin emphasized the need for all institutions and individuals involved in the examination process to improve their vigilance and rectify their practices. He highlighted the appointment of private invigilators for matriculation exams and corruption as major concerns that question the efficiency of the administration.

The committee stressed the importance of taking strict actions against those found involved in cheating and irregularities, with a directive to send corrupt invigilators to jail. It was emphasized that upcoming exams should not repeat the same mistakes, and the administration must ensure top-notch arrangements to prevent any malpractice.

Provincial Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat condemned those jeopardizing the future of students and called for the recovery of money extorted from candidates. A zero-tolerance policy towards cheating in all future examinations was mandated, with recommendations made to register cases against individuals arrested under the 16 MPO from examination centers.

Furthermore, the meeting proposed the installation of cameras in examination rooms for enhanced monitoring and sought input from all stakeholders to develop a comprehensive policy for future examinations.

The Cabinet Committee meeting in Punjab underscored the gravity of exam cheating and irregularities, signaling a firm stance against such malpractices. With a call for stringent actions and improved examination protocols, the authorities aim to uphold the integrity of the examination process and safeguard the future of students across the province.
